Bandar seri begawan: A Joint Statement issued following the Four-Eye Meeting between His Majesty and the Prime Minister of Malaysia emphasized several key areas of collaboration between the two nations.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the leaders expressed their dedication to advancing the land boundary demarcation and survey efforts between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia. They underlined the significance of enhancing economic collaboration, particularly with the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak.
The statement also highlighted plans to further bilateral cooperation in diverse sectors, including defence, investment, immigration, education, disaster management, and the Syariah judiciary. A renewed Memorandum of Understanding on Health Cooperation was signed during the 26th Annual Leaders’ Consultation to reinforce these efforts.
Additionally, Brunei Darussalam pledged its support for Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, focusing on the full and effective implementation of the ASEAN Vision 2045, which aims to deliver socio-economic benefits to the ASEAN population.
