Kuching: Brunei Darussalam celebrated a significant achievement by securing its first two gold medals in the swimming events at the 6th Borneo Games 2025. The national team also earned a silver and a bronze medal in the same category, marking a successful start to the games. The opening ceremony of the games was held at the Perpaduan Petra Jaya Stadium in Kuching, Sarawak, on the afternoon of 24th September. According to Radio Television Brunei, the Brunei Darussalam contingent, consisting of 36 members, is led by Awang Haji Mohammad Rosfazilah bin Haji Yusly, the Acting Director of Youth and Sports, who serves as the Chef De Mission. The team is competing in various sports including Swimming, Athletics, Lawn Ball, Badminton, and Tug of War. Earlier in the day, Brunei Darussalam also celebrated a bronze medal victory in the men's 1,500-meter run, achieved by Mohammod Arif Zulkifli. The event saw Akhbar Tanjung from East Kalimantan take the gold, while Danial Hakim Mohammed Omar from Sarawak secured the silv er.
