Brunei Records Trade Surplus of 390 Million Brunei Dollars in November 2025

Bandar seri begawan: The International Merchandise Trade Statistics for November 2025 reported a surplus of 390 million Brunei dollars. The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, Ministry of Finance and Economy, revealed that the balance resulted from a total trade amounting to 1,687.4 million Brunei dollars, consisting of exports valued at 1,038.7 million Brunei dollars and imports totaling 648.7 million Brunei dollars.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the key contributors to the export value were Mineral Fuels, followed by Chemicals and Machinery and Transport Equipment. Australia emerged as the primary export market, with the People's Republic of China and Japan following closely. The largest export commodities to these countries included Mineral Fuels and Chemicals.

On the import side, Mineral Fuels led the contributions, followed by Machinery and Transport Equipment and Food. Malaysia was the largest import partner, with South Africa and the People's Republic of China trailing behind. The main import commodities from these trading partners were Mineral Fuels and Food.

The imports were primarily used as Intermediate Goods processing, followed by Capital Goods for business operations and Consumption Goods for household use. When compared to November 2024, the total trade value saw a decline of 10.1 percent in November 2025, driven by decreases in both exports and imports.
