Muara: The Australian High Commission and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) conducted a ceremony to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Oboe Landings during the Second World War. The event, which took place in Muara, was attended by notable dignitaries and military personnel.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the gathering included Brigadier General Udara Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim, Deputy Commander of the RBAF. His Excellency Michael Hoy, the Australian High Commissioner, emphasized the significance of the Oboe operations not only for Brunei Darussalam but also for Australia and the United States of America. The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of courage, resilience, and the pursuit of peace.
