Combating Smuggling Is A Collective Duty

Bandar Seri Begawan: Smuggling activities bring many negative effects and cause losses to the country. Therefore, the responsibility to protect the well-being of the country does not only lie on the shoulders of the authorities, but is a shared trust that must be shouldered by every level of society. The matter was among the content of the Friday Sermon titled: Combating Smuggling Is A Shared Responsibility. The sermon also emphasised that the residents of the country are responsible for protecting and safeguarding subsidized goods, as well as working together to prevent smuggling activities.

According to Radio Television Brunei, as citizens and residents of the country, we must always take advantage of government subsidies given as they are aimed to help ease the burden of the people of the country. We must be responsible in protecting and safeguarding subsidized goods provided by the government such as vehicle fuel, rice and others. If smuggling problems occur, it will have a negative impact on the prosperity, security, and socio-economic stability of the country.
