Final Night of National Level Musabaqah Al-Qur’an Reading for Adults Concludes with Awards

Berakas: The culmination of the Final of the National Level Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Reading for Adults was marked by the presentation of prizes to the winners and participants, with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam personally presenting the awards. The ceremony took place at the Plenary Hall, International Convention Centre in Berakas.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was graced by the presence of His Majesty's sons and brothers, including His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah. On arrival, His Majesty was greeted by distinguished officials including Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, alongside several ministers and members of the Musabaqah Executive Committee.

The ceremony commenced with a reading by an invited Qari and Qariah, representing a family from Malaysia known for their dedication to the Al-Qur'an. The Minister of Religious Affairs highlighted the increasing number of children learning muqaddam and Al-Qur'an at mosques nationwide, expressing optimism for creating Al-Qur'an literate citizens.

Pengiran Haji Haslin bin Pengiran Haji Ali, Chairman of the Jury Panel, announced the musabaqah results, urging participants to continue enhancing their knowledge of Al-Qur'an reading. The Champion Qari, Awang Ahmad Zulwaqar bin Haji Suhaili, was awarded a $7,000 cash prize, a Haj Package, the Challenge Trophy, an Umrah Package worth $5,000, a $5,000 Tekad Haji savings account, and other prizes.

The Qariah champion, Dayangku Siti Ummi Syazana binti Pengiran Haji Marjuki, received similar accolades, including a $7,000 cash prize and a $5,000 Tekad Haji savings account. Runner-up awards were also presented, with Awangku Adi Nazri bin Pengiran Haji Jofri and Dayangku Amal Zahirah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri receiving notable prizes.

His Majesty also presented souvenirs to the invited Qari and Qariah. The event concluded with a Doa Selamat led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti. This year's Musabaqah was jointly organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sendirian Berhad.
