Bandar seri begawan: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, welcomed His Excellency Gan Kim Yong, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry of the Republic of Singapore, for an audience and luncheon at Qashr Al-Meezaan. The meeting, held on the morning of October 1st, was part of a two-day visit aimed at enhancing trade and investment collaboration between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the delegation from Singapore, which included His Excellency Laurence Bay, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam, and Mr. Adrian Ng, Director-General (Asia, Middle East and Africa) from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, engaged with Brunei's Ministry of Finance and Economy. The discussions focused on exploring new opportunities for economic cooperation, further strengthening the ties between the two nations.
The visit is also significant in the context of the upcoming 11th Young Leaders' Programme, an important bilateral initiative hosted by Brunei Darussalam. This platform provides young leaders from both countries with the opportunity to build connections and prepare for future leadership roles. Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohammed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, was also present at the event, underscoring the importance of these discussions in fostering long-term partnerships.
