LIMA: His Majesty attended the Handing Over Ceremony of the Key of Lima City, expressing gratitude for receiving this significant symbol of trust and friendship. During the ceremony, His Majesty conveyed appreciation for the warmth and hospitality extended by the people of Lima and acknowledged the city's ongoing role as a cultural, economic, and political hub under the leadership of Mayor Rafael López Aliaga. His Majesty highlighted Lima's remarkable transformation over the years, noting that it offers valuable lessons and inspiration for cities worldwide, including Brunei Darussalam. He expressed confidence that receiving the Key to Lima City signifies a gateway to forging deeper and more meaningful connections between the two countries. According to Radio Television Brunei, earlier in the day, His Majesty held a meeting with Mayor Rafael López Aliaga at the Municipal Palace of Lima. During this meeting, the Key to Lima City was presented to His Majesty as an illustrious guest. His Excellency, the Mayor, e mphasized in his remarks that the handover represents the highest honour awarded by the City of Lima to a distinguished guest, fostering an opportunity to establish a strong relationship between both sides.
