Jakarta: The Indo Defence 2025 Expo and Forum is currently taking place at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran, Republic of Indonesia, and will continue until the 14th of June. With its theme ‘Defence Partnership for Global Peace and Stability,’ the event aims to serve as a strategic platform for encouraging defence diplomacy, dialogue, and cooperation.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the delegation from the Ministry of Defence is led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, who holds dual roles as Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence. This biennial event showcases a wide array of cutting-edge military products and serves as an exhibition of defence technology and industry.
The 2025 Expo is being held alongside the Indo Aerospace 2025 Expo and Forum and the Indo Marine 2025 Expo and Forum, with participation from 42 countries. The Bruneian delegation includes Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, and His Excellency Retired Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abdul Kadir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Indonesia. Yang Berhormat also engaged with counterparts from ASEAN Member States and various international partners at the exhibition.
A bilateral meeting was also held with the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia, focusing on strategic and regional matters of mutual interest. Both ministers emphasized their countries’ long-standing defence relations and affirmed their commitment to further enhancing their defence cooperation.
