Information Literacy Programme Launched to Empower Youth in Temburong District

Temburong: The Information Literacy Programme for Youth in Temburong District has been inaugurated with the aim of enhancing the participants’ understanding of the Youth Policy and highlighting the crucial role of youth in national development. The opening ceremony of the programme was held at the Information Department on the morning of August 11th.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event saw the presence of Awang Haji Fathi Foad bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abu Bakar, who is the Acting Deputy Director of Information. The programme featured a briefing session that focused on the aspirations and responsibilities of youth in the context of national growth. Additionally, participants were given the opportunity to visit ‘Pusat Bahagia’ and Maraburong Prison, aiming to provide them with a comprehensive understanding of various societal roles and responsibilities.

The Information Literacy Programme seeks to empower the youth by increasing their awareness and involvement in community and national development initiatives. Through this programme, young individuals are expected to gain valuable insights into their potential contributions to the country’s progress.
