According to Radio Television Brunei, the installation of cucul or coloured decorative lights is synonymous with every Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration in the month of Syawal. It is also a symbol of welcoming guests to come celebrate Raya. The joyful atmosphere from the colourful lights for some individuals further enlivens Hari Raya and brings back the past.
Although it is not the same as before, what is important is that the atmosphere and celebration of Hari Raya has become more meaningful and lively for everyone involved.
