Launch of BruHealth 5.0 Highlighted at 78th World Health Assembly

Geneva: The launch of BruHealth 5.0 marked a significant step in digital transformation aimed at accelerating the achievement of Universal Health Coverage, by making healthcare more accessible, efficient, and people-centered. It was introduced as the latest version of the national digital health platform, designed to connect individuals directly to health services, bolster preventive care, and empower the public to manage their health. The Minister of Health highlighted this during a plenary session at the 78th World Health Assembly held in Geneva, Switzerland, which is ongoing until the 27th of May. According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar stressed that health is a shared responsibility and a universal right, emphasizing that no country can effectively confront and manage health threats alone. He also welcomed the conclusion of the Pandemic Agreement discussions, underscoring that countries can still unite for the common goal of en hancing global cooperation, reducing inequality, and ensuring no country is left behind. A notable achievement of the assembly was the WHO Pandemic Agreement on 20th May 2025, marking a significant step in strengthening global preparedness and response to pandemics. Additionally, the Minister of Health engaged in a bilateral discussion with Yang Berhormat Doctor Dzulkefly bin Ahmad, the Malaysian Minister of Health, focusing on cooperation in the health sector between the two countries and the region. Also present was Her Excellency Dayangku Mazlizah binti Pengiran Haji Mahalee, the Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. The theme of this year's assembly was 'One World for Health'.
