Bandar Seri Begawan: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of the Brunei Darussalam economy, representing 97 percent of the country's businesses, contributing 5.9 percent of the GDP, and providing over 52 percent of private-sector employment. These businesses are central to the country's economic resilience and future growth. The matter was stated by the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy during the 17th Shell LiveWIRE Business Awards Prize Presentation. According to Radio Television Brunei, Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid emphasized that by enhancing access to financing, offering tailored training programs, and opening up new markets, entrepreneurs have the tools to thrive. This year, $24,000 have been allocated for prizes across various categories, including the Most Promising Business, Most Progressive Business, and Most Outstanding Business.
