Bandar seri begawan: Muslims are being encouraged to use the occurrence of a lunar eclipse as an opportunity to deepen their self-awareness of Allah’s greatness and seek His forgiveness. This message was conveyed during a special sermon at the Sunat Lunar Eclipse Prayer held early this morning at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the sermon emphasized that the lunar eclipse is a manifestation of Allah’s power, akin to the occurrence of night and day. The teachings of Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam were highlighted, urging the Muslim community to engage in good deeds during such celestial events, including performing prayers, reciting doa, engaging in zikir, and giving alms.
The event was attended by Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. The Sunat Lunar Eclipse Prayer was conducted not only at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque but also at all mosques, suraus, and religious halls throughout the country, reflecting a widespread communal observance of the occasion.
