Sovereign’s Parade Ceremony Marks Milestone for 24th Intake of Officer Cadet School, RBAF

Kampung tanah jambu: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, emphasized the importance of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) being attuned to the evolving geopolitical and military landscape. This message was delivered during the Sovereign's Parade Ceremony for the 24th Intake of the Officer Cadet School at the Defence Academy, RBAF. The ceremony, held at the Parade Square, Defence Academy, RBAF, took place on the morning of January 15th. His Royal Highness awarded the Sword of Honour and other accolades to the top Officer Cadets in various disciplines, accompanied by his brother, His Royal Highness 920 Lieutenant Colonel (Udara) Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

According to Radio Television Brunei, His Royal Highness was welcomed to the event by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence, along with Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the RBAF. Shortly after his arrival, His Royal Highness received a Royal Salute and inspected the Guard of Honour, commanded by Captain Zulhamizan bin Awang Jamil.

The Sovereign's Parade Ceremony represents the culmination of intensive military training for the Officer Cadet School at the Defence Academy RBAF, equipping new officers with essential skills. The involvement of the Malaysian Armed Forces, Republic of Singapore Armed Forces, and Royal Thai Armed Forces underscores the strong regional defence and friendship ties, enhancing the stature of the Officer Cadet School and the Defence Academy RBAF.

During his sabda, His Royal Highness noted that the growing participation from regional armed forces highlights the recognized quality of training, boosting the credibility of the Officer Cadet School. He also mentioned that the Defence White Paper 2021 is in the process of being updated and will be unveiled at the 65th RBAF Anniversary, aiming to fortify the nation's strategic approach to future security challenges.

His Royal Highness presented commissions to the officer cadets, with the 'Sword of Honour' awarded to Officer Cadet Nur Amanina binti Ismail. The Best Academic Award went to Officer Cadet Jayden Lim Jie En from the Republic of Singapore, while Officer Cadet (Udara) Awangku Muhammad Haziq Dzulfadhly Mubarak bin Pengiran Haji Md Amir Ilham earned the Best Military Skills Award. Officer Cadet Muhammad Sufi Shayiran bin Roslan received the Best Physical Training Award, and Officer Cadet Rizq Dzakwan bin Sharifuddin from Malaysia was honored with the Outstanding International Officer Cadet Award.

The ceremony concluded with a doa selamat read by Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mujib bin Japar, Acting Director of the RBAF Religious Directorate, JAMA'AT.
