“Supamas” reveals flash flood at Phayao University, everyone is safe

"Suphamas", Minister of Higher Education, asks parents of students at Phayao University to be relieved due to flash floods. Everyone is safe. The government is taking full care of them. Ms. Supamas Isaraphakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, said about the flash flood situation at Phayao University that at 7:00 a.m., the flash flood came to the area in front of the university, which has many dormitories. It is shaped like a basin. If it were a single-story dormitory, the water would have flooded up to the roof. Some students climbed out and were cut by the glass. They were taken to the hospital. The president of Phayao University is very strong. Therefore, the building was opened and students were evacuated to temporary accommodation. While Chiang Rai Rajabhat University and the Rajabhat network nationwide are mobilizing to help in Phayao Province, many parents and guardians have contacted to ask how things are going. But right now, the incident has been happening for less than 2 hours and we still cannot assess the situation. Currently, there are still some flooded areas, but all of these are unexpected events. Ms. Supamas confirmed that the students were well taken care of, had a place to sleep, and 3 meals a day. No one died, only one was injured. As for clothes, phones, school supplies, and motorcycles, they could not be taken out. In addition, the students were also worried about their pets, so the school had to be closed for 2-3 days. 'Parents can rest assured, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and the government are taking full care of us. Don't worry, everyone is safe, has food to eat and a place to sleep.' Source: Thai News Agency
