14-year-old girl involved in fire in school bus, condition improves – no infection found

She is in better condition, has no infection, no joint problems, is emotionally stable, and can sleep. Statement from the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, Department of Medical Services, regarding a 14-year-old female patient who was involved in a fire on a school bus (No. 7) Following the incident of a 14-year-old Thai female patient who was injured in a school bus trip incident involving students from Wat Khao Phraya Sangkharam School in Uthai Thani Province, which caught fire on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road inbound on October 1, 2024, and who was admitted for treatment at the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, Department of Medical Services. From the treatment on October 9, 2024, it was found that the symptoms have improved. All burn wounds have improved, responded to treatment, no infection was found, no problems with joint stiffne ss, and both hands and arms can be used normally. The results of the mental evaluation, the patient has a stable mood, is more relaxed, and can sleep. The psychiatric team will continue to evaluate the patient's and relatives' mental health and follow up on the symptoms periodically.
