Brunei Darussalam and Pakistan Aim to Bolster Bilateral Ties Through Strategic Cooperation

Bandar Seri Begawan: Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan are seeking to enhance their bilateral relations through strengthened cooperation across multiple sectors. This agenda was highlighted during a courtesy call by His Excellency Janbaz Khan, High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, with Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council, at the Dewan Majlis Building.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the discussions during the meeting covered various areas of mutual interest, including investment, information technology, food security, and healthcare. Yang Berhormat also conveyed his appreciation for the contributions of Pakistani citizens working in Brunei across different professional sectors, underscoring the value of their expertise to the country's development.

In a separate meeting, Yang Berhormat received Her Excellency Naureen Ahsan, High Commissioner of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, where both parties reaffirmed the strong existing relations between the two countries. Discussions focused on potential areas for enhanced cooperation such as agricultural research, improving air connectivity, and fostering people-to-people ties through cultural and educational exchanges.

Dr. Dayang Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah, Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers' Council, and Clerk to the Legislative Council, was also present during these discussions, highlighting the importance of such diplomatic engagements in strengthening Brunei's international relations.
