Brunei Darussalam to Enhance Healthcare Access through Technology

Geneva: Brunei Darussalam will invest in and expand equitable access to basic healthcare. Thus, the country will continue to leverage technology and data to achieve better population health outcomes, strengthen collaboration with stakeholders across the public, private and community sectors, as well as uphold the principle that health is a shared responsibility. The matter was shared by the Minister of Health at the Annual Health Roundtable held recently in Geneva, Switzerland.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar also shared the importance of digital technology transformation such as BruHealth 5.0 as a practical solution to bring the health access gap closer that is cost-effective to reach marginalized communities and can support population health initiatives by leveraging data and digital platforms to improve preventive care and management of non-communicable diseases, including prevention campaigns and health screenings, the use of tele-health as well as remote monitoring.

The roundtable conference programme aimed to gather global leaders to accelerate innovation the artificial intelligence powered innovation, cross regional policies, and strengthen public-private partnerships to advance equitable access to health and reduce global health risks. This participation reinforces the country's commitment to international cooperation and health innovation based on equity and inclusiveness.
