Chao Phraya River floods several communities in Nonthaburi

Nonthaburi, 8 Oct - Chao Phraya River water levels rise after upper dams release more water, flooding several communities in Nonthaburi Province. Sandbags are being placed for protection. The water level in the Chao Phraya River has risen due to increased water release from the upper dam, coupled with high tides, causing water to flow over the sandbag barrier to prevent flooding in the community of the shrine, the old city pillar shrine, Bang Sri Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District. Villagers had to bring old sandbags from 2023 to place as a barrier to slow down the water from flowing in further, while waiting for the water level to drop back to normal. While the risk communities outside the flood protection embankment in Nonthaburi Municipality, water overflowed into the walkways of many communities, such as Wat Chaeng Siri Samphan Community, Ban Talat Khwan Community, the community behind Phra Nang Klao Hospital, and Tha Sai Community. The municipality has built wooden footbridges for the publ ic.
