Bandar seri begawan: Precautions, including avoiding activities on the river at night or during rainy weather, were emphasized during a briefing and muzakarah session with villagers to address the issue of human-crocodile conflict in the waters of Brunei Darussalam. Held at the Kampung Saba Religious Hall, the session aimed to inform the community about safety measures and was conducted by the Forestry Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism through the Wildlife Division, in collaboration with the Kampung Ayer Zone 2 Consultative Council.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the initiative is part of an ongoing effort by the Wildlife Division of the Forestry Department to increase public awareness of necessary measures to reduce the risk of conflict with crocodiles. This includes the installation of crocodile warning signboards in areas identified as frequent locations for the reptiles as a precautionary measure. The session was attended by Awang Reni bin Haji Yahya, Acting Director of Forestry, underscoring the importance of community involvement in mitigating potential human-crocodile encounters.
