Jerudong: Over 60 primary six students of Jerudong International Religious School were celebrated in a Khatam Al-Qur'an Ceremony after completing the reading of 30 chapters of Al-Qur'an. The ceremony took place at the school in the afternoon.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony included the recitation of surah al-fatihah led by Awang Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This was followed by the reading of surah by the khatam participants. The event aimed to produce an Al-Qur'an literate generation and to encourage the continuous practice of reading Al-Qur'an in internalizing the religion. It also aligns with the Islamic Studies Department's effort to strengthen the Islamic eminence in the country.
