Tutong: The Malay Language Immersion Programme for Singaporean students has made its mark as a pivotal initiative aimed at promoting the Malay language and enhancing regional ties. The programme underscores Brunei Darussalam’s dedication as a strategic partner in education and cultural affairs. Recently, as part of this initiative, 88 students along with 14 teachers from Singapore’s Ministry of Education visited Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School in the Tutong District.
According to Radio Television Brunei, during their visit, the Singaporean students engaged in various activities designed to immerse them in the Malay language and culture. These activities included participating in classroom sessions focused on Malay language teaching and learning, as well as engaging in dialogue sessions with local students. Both Singaporean and Bruneian students showcased cultural performances, further fostering mutual understanding and cultural exchange.
In the latter part of the day, the programme continued with a visit to
the Eco Ponies Garden in Kampung Lamunin. Here, the participants were introduced to traditional village-style cooking and cake-making, providing them with a hands-on experience of Bruneian culinary traditions.
