World Book Day Celebrations Enlivened by Storytelling and Reading Activities

Kuala Belait: World Book Day was celebrated with a series of programmes and activities aimed at strengthening the reading culture within the community, particularly among children. The celebrations also sought to instil a love of knowledge through engaging reading-related activities.

According to Radio Television Brunei, at the Pandan Language and Literature Bureau in Kuala Belait, the festivities included a Story Telling Programme, which saw participation from around 70 pupils hailing from Panaga Primary School. This event was designed to encourage young learners to develop an interest in literature and storytelling.

In Tutong District, the Language and Literature Bureau organized a variety of activities such as reading sessions and storytelling by students from selected schools, as well as a colouring activity. These events were tailored to promote reading habits and creativity among the youth.

Meanwhile, at Sultan Hashim Primary School, the celebration featured a Story Telling Session with librarians. This session was attended by pupils, including those from Pusat Bahagia, Temburong District Branch. The event was part of the broader effort to engage children with literature and foster a lasting interest in reading.
